Father Cordley wears a number of different hats. He covered the Colorado Springs peace riot in Peace Rally Goes Wrong. He hosts an Equinaut forum Father Cordley's Confessional; a discussion forum regarding art, poetry, music, relationships, martial arts, and personal freedom. Cordley has also been a photojournalist and motion picture film editor. Spiritual Father Cordley has studied with such outstanding Spiritual minds as KAJA at the New School of the Child Spirit in New Orleans. Where he learned how to be a pretty good lay preacher. He went on to study the ministry of Old Timey Paul Clayton and Reid Humphrey. The Father then took a full three year course at the Reinzi from Chester Anderson, Dark Angel. In Paris he studied with Ted Joans receiving the coveted Teducation. He gathered a flock in Crested Butte where Jazz and Poetry were unleashed in the night at five different Arts Fairs as well as at Frank and Gals Saloon. It was in Crested Butte that he heard the preaching of Rev Billy C. Wirth and got the Word from Rev. (Defrocked) Happy Harry Milton of Bisbee Az., If you are looking for place to die Milton's Mortuary is your place. Father Cordley believes in good music, better food and full enjoyment of life. Advice for miserable sinners, you would not be miserable if you get it right. The Father relaxes with the music of Richard Thompson, Ornette Coleman, Orff and Warren Zevon and has learned painfully, through many marriages "The road of Excess leads to the Palace of Wisdom." He resides in the Holy City of Simla, Colorado Art Cordley was raised in the hot house environment of Cos Cob where artists lived in every potting shed and shack. Latter his family moved to Michigan with summers on Martha's Vineyard and New Hampshire where his photographer grandmother, Marjorie Rouillion, a force in the Arts and Crafts Movement. Cordley studied art to become a photographer, "a craft that engages the eye". While living on Martha's Vineyard artists Chandler Moore, Denys Wortman and Thomas Hart Benton welcomed Cordley into their studios and homes. In Paris he studied color theory with Hillaire Hiler and with the students of Leger. In London he ran with John Lathem, Adrian Henri, Brian Day Parsons and Aden Kelly. After a career in photojournalism and film making Cordley opened a silk screen shop, gallery, and framing operation in Crested Butte with his (now) ex wife and friend Susan Anderton. During this period he took up drawing as a way observing and experimenting In 1986 Cordley found a berth a Monte Libre Monthly in Denver. He had a hand in discovering the sordid side of the Denver Banking and media world known as the Saving and Loan Scandal. Cordley notes that "the Arts and Media in Colorado are held under tight control by the forces that made the looting of Colorado possible.". Cordley has shown twice at the NeoGeo Show in Colorado Springs. .His drawings are of historic interest, the paintings are observations of the everyday world as it is or appears to his eyes. Cordley moved to Simla Colorado in 1993 to escape the repression in Denver. |
