Seasons Change Corruption Does Not
Frosty and Karen Miller still don't have their children back.
Let us review their trip though the halls of injustice. In 1993 Karen was stopped for a DWI: she paid her fine, did her community service, paid off the psycho-vultures and went on her way. In 1996 she returned to Colorado and found a clerical error had left her fine marked unpaid. While Frosty was off working she got dragged into a parent's nightmare. She learned you can't trust a prosecutor when she cut a deal rather than fight the charge. A Judge with a booze problem and multiple D.U.I.'s of hid own sentenced her to thirty days jail time, her mother called social services for help, the four children were seized and grilled by the infamous sex unit for three days, without their parents present. The accusations and trials of the Millers began. The Social Worker who started this left the county under a cloud of being a long time credit criminal. That makes two felons in their lives, masquerading as children's saviors. D.S.S. Canon City is rife with corruption and nepotism.
Nepotism starts at the top with Brenda Rall, Commissioner Rall's wife, as the second in command at D.S.S. The top honcho of D.S.S. has his own side business run by his wife and their workers shuttle back and forth with the greatest of ease. Meanwhile Social Worker Julie Smith became Julie Roberts for tax purposes according to one insider...
Over at the cop shop they have all that prison staff having a hard time not doing time. A corrections officer who was accused of molesting a child with a Deputy Sheriff present has risen in the ranks...There will be more on this twist as the story comes out.
Frosty had fired his first lawyer, a guy who wanted to plead him out and charge himr twenty grand. Finding lawyers who will work is very hard: finding honest ones requires an act of the Almighty..
Frosty's new lawyer is stifled by D.S.S. throwing up more smoke and mirrors about the bogus molesting charge. The elegant Mr. Rowe Stanton is currently confounded again by the pleas of a prosecutor whose main witness has vanished up in a cloud of fraud.
The Department gave up a whole lot, but then suddenly new charges start surfacing after two years: a lot of people are looking at the Fremont County Department of Social Services trying to kidnap four children.
The other part of the story which doesn't get to the reader except from the net and the small press, is the press. The Denver Post and the Rocky are filled with the precorrupted reporters; the guys who get the freebies and the guys with family placed thoughout the media. They are made guys who couldn't find their asses with their hands behind their backs.
The guys at the television stations will not cover because they are fixed by D.S.S. or the Democrat Party. They cite fairness doctrines, as if children dying at the hands of bad or corrupt decisions has to do with fair play. The Republicans, who own the presses, cameras, and microphones wrote the laws that allow D.S.S. to do anything they want to children and they get fixed every day up there in their golden domed brothel.
The little talking heads do most of what they want but there are subjects they hate to get near. In Colorado the press is not very free at all. The corrupt judges and lawyers are able to keep the heat off by looking after Big Foot.
Big Foot are real made guys. Phillip Burgess, Independence Institute, Center For the New West and Mike Rosen. These guys and their children are the fix. Princes of talk radio, they are smart self starters who get rich off every edge.
Nationally they are the Lehrer's and the Rather's, talking empty heads; who are so far from human contact, the only working people they meet are the cab drivers taking them to the airport. They are told what to say by armies of writers. producers, sponsors, pols, and where they come from, so what you get is mush.
Reporters graduate up. They start working with real people stories and move into the rarified air of big stories. Look at Holliman who started knowing something and going up the ladder was emptied by his job. If he had lived he might have been lobodomized into being an ikon. Big Foot is a cloned position.
Children are taken, false charges made, money changes hands, a lot of it. Justice moves out of the court house as judges cover hideous crimes. The boys in the news room sleep on. There are no court reporters on medium sized newspapers; no one is on the police court beat. The desk is empty, the Ingersol is covered in dust.
